Not only is Essex one of the country's best places to visit for shopping, dining and nights out, it also harbours some of the most picturesque English countryside.

Epping Forest expands from northeast London towards the M25. A vast area of natural beauty, it is divided by meandering bridle ways and beaten pathways. Originally a Royal Hunting Lodge belonging to Queen Elizabeth I, it is still unspoiled and beautifully maintained.

The Woodland Centre organise a wide-range of activities that take in the history of the area as well as highlighting it natural beauty-spots. High Beach encompasses much of the area near this centre, also deep in the Epping woodland.

High Beach is renowned for its tranquility and inviting nature, and appeals to young and old alike as an area for days and nights out.

Tennyson, the poet, lived in High Beach at Beech Hill Park between 1837 and 1840, and it is in High Beach churchyard where he wrote part of the poem "In Memoriam".
